Captain Edward Tobin of Engine Company No. 23, in W. 58th Street, died in Roosevelt Hospital last night at 11 o’clock. Capt. Tobin was one of the many firemen overcome by smoke in the fire at 310 W. 59th Street two weeks ago. With them, he was brought to the hospital. The shock of exposure and his advanced years together brought on pneumonia and it caused his death.
Capt. Tobin was 46 years old. He leaves a wife and seven sons.
