Cheap place to stay
« on: October 05, 2008, 06:01:50 PM »
Hello. I'll be in New York City in mid November. Does anyone know of a cheap hotel near Times Square other than the Hotel Carter. Captain Morris told me about one on our last visit which was close to the hotel Carter (a priced similar) by a block or so but I cannot remember the name.

I know nothing is cheap but somewhere in the area of $200-300 a night. Any idea would be helpful.

Hi,

Try Travel Inn Hotel on 42nd street between 10th and 11th avenue.  Just one street down from Rescue co.1. Not a palace but works fine.  I stay there with my family when i visit NYC.

Here is there link: http://www.thetravelinnhotel.com/default.aspx

Have fun

Eric

Look into the Mariot Marquis at times square, stayed there June for the Jimmy Buffet concert and they gave special rates to Firefighters with ID cards.

Yea the hotel Carter was like a dungeon. Captain Morris also told us to stay away from there and recommended The Travel Inn...I believe. He said he has work several jobs there.
