What is the response to a water rescue and would some of the units be placed upstream and downstream?

It's different for each type, but typically i beleive it's at least 1 engine, 1 truck, Rescue or Squad, maybe one of the fireboats. If it's nearby a TAC, they'll send them, also if it's nearby a house with a MARC boat, they'll likely get called and if available and situation depending, NYPD aviation.

Water Rescue = 2E, 2L, 1BC, Rescue, Squad at times, TAC, Rescue Bn, Safety BN, Marine unit if able.
And Water Rescue unit.

There are no SOP's like in the Swift Water Rescues you see out west.
