    New FDNY Tillers

The $69000 becomes is the drivers position a paid position and if so by how much compared to a comparable ff? If were only talking 50 cents per hour, that's fairly negligible. Even a couple of bucks per hour is still fairly negligible when looking at the overall budget. Big question is, what is...

    New Seagraves

Yep sorry. Probably fat fingered it. Another surprise is they went back to 500 gallon tanks from the 750s they used to have. I think that was at least 2 generations of rigs ago though.

    New Seagraves

You got me thinking, so I went back and looked at FDNYtrucks site. Id say probably 50 to 60 percent of the engines in SI have or had a reel on their rig. Some are still in 15ish Ferraras, have them, and some are probably either being replaced or have been replaced like the 2010 Seagraves. 151...

    New Seagraves

Thanks. Personally having certain engines that normally respond to brush fires quite often probably should have 1. Ive dragged normal attack line thru brush, and forestry hose. Ill take the forestry hose any day for brush fires. I saw on FDNYtrucks page their 2010 had 1 in 2 different spots. 1...

    New Seagraves

Stumbled across a video of Eng 161 responding to a call from qtrs. Noticed something I haven't seen on any other engines since the 90s when I was in WHB. Did FDNY start putting hose reels over the pump panels on certain engines like 161? Or is it something the company did themselves? Looks like...

    New FDNY Tillers

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if they were a test bed so to speak. I was thinking of something that I had heard at the time, but I'm seeing that it probably didn't happen the way I thought. I thought they had swapped all of the 91 tillers to rearmounts but there's more 91s that went into a new tiller...

    New FDNY Tillers

I was thinking permanantly, like 151 and 173. I heard something regarding certain tillers in that time frame and was curious if that may have played a part in it.

    New FDNY Tillers

Does anyone know, in roughly 2001 who came out of tillers besides 151 and 173? I'm curious about something.

Also, someone may not have gone deep enough to fix that when they became a squad. I remember a similar issue back in the 90s when engine 294 was disbanded. Someone never took them off a 4th alarm assignment and Queens was calling them on the radio before someone realized what happened.

Thank you. I'm amazed at some of the newer materials that are coming out and their weights. One of the first things I did when I went career was to get on as many committees as I could and educated myself on what was new.

All of the above but it's opinion based. The Elkhart RAM and the Blizfire are basically the same thing just 2 different makers. My experience comes from the RAM. It really comes down to a few different things. Towers on average can support roughly 1000 gpms. Sometimes up to 1500. Depends on a...

I dont know about the Blitzfires, but the Elkhart RAMs which is basically the same thing, was very mobile. 1 person could lift it off the ground operating, and use it as a standard nozzle. ( I, not a fan of that) It still would take 2 or 3 members to move it long distances or advance with it...

I think your right. They posted that 51 minutes ago. Didn't catch the time on this one.

    New Rearmount order

It's possible that it happened twice. When I first started with them in 91, there was no sign that I recall. I remember seeing rms in 173s bay on occasion. The red sign with white lettering showed up in about 93 or 94. Eitherway, the floors been fixed since the late 90s.
