POST Radio
- Kenwood TK8150 mobile radio installed in a pelican case.
- 45 Watt output power
- Operation time is 4 hours. 20/20/60 - 20% Talk / 20% receive / 60% Standby
- Charged weekly or after use for at least 8hours but may need up to 20hours
- Weight is 22pounds
- When talking stay at least 2 feet away due to the RF.
Cross Band Repeater
- Uses Motorola VRS750 Cross Band Repeater.
- Links the UHF Mobile radio to the 5watt VHF Portable Radio
- Activation of the Repeater
- Contact the dispatcher
- Depress the Power Button
- Depress the Yellow VRS Button
- Radio then will flash "VRS Both"
- Remove VHF Portable radio from charger
- Set the Portable to the Command Channel
- Keyup the radio and check for the red TX light on the VRS
- Portable Radio is marked with yellow knobs
- Only Channels 1 - 8 are programmed
- Emergency Button not active
- Only one repeater on at a time
- Park car across street
- Only 1 operation citwide
Operational
- First BC brings POST radio to lobby
- 2nd Engine Officer will take POST Radio to the operations post
- If 2nd Engine is already up stairs prior to arrival of BC then give radio
to OV operating Elevator
