When Jimmy came to my station, he was young, "buff" and full energy. He was always buffing jobs and in the middle of all the "good jobs". 100 blocks for a trauma job? No problem for Jimmy. He manuevered the "bus" like a fighter-pilot, usually at equalling speeds.

Jimmy had found his calling in emergency medicine and not only performed skills, but provided extraordinary care to his patients. When he called for medics, we knew it was legit. When we were going on the 5 floor walk-up or called for back-up, Jimmy was always there for us and the patient.

Dear Jimmy,
The football games in the courtyard are great memories for me. I remember being in awe of your speed and strength. One thing, basketball wasn't one of your strengths.

Thanks for the back-up. You said to me one time that you wanted to be a medic, but you wanted to be as good as Malcolm and I. A higher compliment could never be made. I never told you this, but I wanted to be as good as you. To love the job and carry the passion the way you did. I'm sorry I was never privledged to work with you after you upgraded. I'm sure I would have learned so much.

I'll always remember these things about you, the EMT, the sportsman, my friend;

Your love for Gina and Justin.
Your skill and determination.
Your pride and humbleness.
Your sense of humor and smile.
The day you walked into the station after cutting off
all your hair!

Thank you my friend for being there through my tough times. Your strength help get me through it.

I'll miss you, just like I have since I left the station 2 years ago, but I'll cherish my memories and know we'll meet another day and you'll be there for me, like you always were.

Peace Brother,
Ackley
