4. PROCEDURE
4.1 Members shall:
4.1.1 Notify the dispatcher that the patient(s) they are treating is a possible hyperbaric candidate.
4.1.2 Follow all appropriate REMAC ALS/BLS protocols and document the following on the Ambulance Call Report (ACR):
A. Presenting problem (carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke inhalation, decompression sickness, etc.).
B. How long the patient was exposed (e.g., carbon monoxide, smoke, cyanide, etc.) or has been experiencing symptoms (e.g., decompression sickness, gas gangrene, CNS disturbances, etc.)
C. How long the patient has been receiving oxygen therapy.
D. If the patient experienced a loss of consciousness and if so, how long.
4.1.3 Transport the patient(s) to the nearest appropriate 911 Ambulance Destination.
4.1.4 Present the patient to the appropriate 911 Ambulance Destination medical staff and, unless directed by the dispatcher to stand-by, return to an available status.
4.1.5 When requested, respond to the specified 911 Ambulance Destination or Hyperbaric Chamber for a Stat-Transfer.
4.1.6 When requested, respond to the specified helicopter landing zone and await the arrival of the patient(s).
4.1.7 Transport the patient(s) to the designated hospital or Hyperbaric Chamber.
