What do the rescue medics do with the scba on their backs?
Enables them to operate in a contaminated atmosphere or traverse a contaminated area to get to an uncontaminated area of safe refuge and address the medical needs of members or civilians. They don't travel independent of a fire company at the scene of an incident. If memory serves they are paired up with the FAST truck or the CFRD Engine. They are also equipped with HT radios on TAC 1 and appropriate protective clothing.
