    Police went to Red/Blue lights years ago. The reason is red is more visible during day light hours and blue is more visible during night time hours.

    Indianapolis FD Lt. Mike Estridge death

    Many of the great members of FDNY have came to Indianapolis for FDIC. Lt Mike Estridge was active in assisting however he could.  He passed away yesterday after a hard fought battle with fire service related cancer. He was a fireman's fireman.  May he rest in peace.

    I believe so.  I know of many other things that are.  The Indiana University School of Journalism amongst other things are named after him. The VFW Ernie Pyle Post on the near south side of Indy was the first VFW Post to open in 1945 after WWII.

    I used to live about 45 minutes from where he grew up in Dana, Indiana.  Ernie Pyle is a huge name in Indiana.  He is one of the greatest Hoosiers ever.
