NYBuff needs to stop ripping articles off other sites. They are cruising for a lawsuit. Just saying.

Actually if proper credit is given, which it is if the entire article is posted from the website, it's not an issue from what I have read on other web sites.

Actually, the problem is posting ('ripping') the article from another site and reposting it without expressed permission is the problem. Credit or no credit given. Posting a summary + link is accepted. Been dealing with this for a couple of years now.

From the ultra-simple wikihow.com:

"Examples of "fair use" are excerpts of a copyrighted work, such as:
-A one or two sentence summary of an article. Just enough to give a working idea of the content. Full paragraphs and embedded objects are not included."

Some of the major newspaper publishers and some broadcasting companies hired law firms to issue orders against bloggers and other sites to stop re-publishing stories and articles without permission. Some sites were not even given this warning, just hit with a suit.

Our policy here is no full articles. Links are good to go.

Today's Chicago Sun Times has an article on Underwriters Laboratory attempting to make fire fighting a little safer. I am not a computer genius, you will have to enter the site and search for the info. Sorry to be a pain in the butt.
