Photos and info at the 2 links below.  I recognize that my question compares apples to oranges, and it's tough to answer it without having been there, BUT . . . if a fire like this happened in New York City, what would the most likely response have been . . . 2, 3 alarms??  More???  Anybody wanna guess?

IMO, size of building and amount of fire showing might get you a deuce or trey, but since it's a hotel, you just might see it make the 4 spot.

Any other handicappers?
 
I live in New London County and know that in NYC it would have been a third alarm at best.  Most of the units were used for evacuation and controlling water damage.  Many units responded but not with the manpower that NYC has.  I lived in Brooklyn for 30 years and I know the difference.
