Once again, the value CFD Turret Wagon, Large Caliber Stream unit shows their value. at a large fire. The rest of the fire service needs to wise up and start making use of one or more of these, highly mobile units. It can be as simple as adding a semi-mobile Large Caliber Stream device to the top of a Brush Fire Unit or a special unit. FDNY had some aerial ladder company apparatuses modified with what FDNY called a "Kelsey Mount" so a portable Large Caliber stream could be secured to the body of the aerial ladder unit, that was often already in front of the fire building. These concepts are not new here are some Internet photos below. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired.Phil. From the 80's this is Turret Unit 6-7-4, built on a Chevy chassis by the shops, destroyed in 1982 when a wall fall on it during a massive 5-11 fire. Current units, 2 of them, are built on 2013 Ford chassis by Triangle Fabricators and are located @ E-106 (N) and E-104 (S).
