I took that picture while in lower Manhattan the other day. Not only this site's Charlie T., aka "memory master", but all of the others who save lives every day, but very often get no recognition for the GREAT JOB they do.
Whether they are active EMTs/Medics working within the FDNY/EMS, or working private or hospital based EMS units. It was also true before the merger of NYC-EMS into the FDNY/EMS that some of us remember and many of those members are now retired.
These dedicated individuals are out there saving lives whether the heat of summer or the cold of winter.
Thank you and I'm glad that the City of New York has put this sign to remind all of us of the kind of work you do.
