Signal 13/35 Transmitted, Fire In A Detached Garage.

The North Lindenhurst Fire Department and the Lindenhurst Fire Department for a dual response Engine were alerted for a garage fire in the vicinity of 47th Street and Catskill Avenue about 13:25 on May 25, 2023. North Amityville Third Assistant Chief Benloss who was in the area notified Babylon Central Fire Alarm of a heavy smoke condition in the area. Lindenhurst First and Third Assistant Chiefs Santos and Brink arrived and had an involved detached garage. Chief Santos passed that information to North Lindenhurst Chief of Department Stallone and the alarm was resounded as a working fire. Engine 1-11-1 was first due and went fire to hydrant and the crew stretched one line to the garage. Ladder 1-11-4 set up in front of the house, that crew along with the crew from Engine 1-11-2 began opening up the garage and affected area to check for extension, which was negative. The fire was knocked down and brought under control in about 20 minutes. Lindenhurst Engine 1-6-1 was the dual response Engine, all other mutual aid was canceled. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
