Reduction of Engine Company Staffing (5th FF)

I picked up on a previous thread that there are plans to do away with the 5 man engine companies, excluding (HAZMAT Tech engines and squads), is this set in stone or just a proposal??

Just a proposal for now. I would rather see the FDNY drop the fifth man rather than close companies.

Runs will increase for some engines due to the fact more engines will be responding 10-14 and eventually I think companies will lose the 5th man and some companies will also close.
