Pawcatuck FD was dispatched to a reported working boat fire in a marina at 7 River Road. First arriving unit reported heavy smoke from an approximately 45 foot Chris Craft cabin cruiser on land at the marina and requested a first alarm assignment. Shortly after, a second alarm was requested for manpower. A line was operated to cool down the boat while the exact location of the fire was determined. Pawcatuck's Tower Ladder was raised as an observation post and also used for ventilation. The fire was located in an engineering space far below deck and a hole had to be cut in the side of the hull to access the fire. Once this was done, the fire was extinguished.
