I was around then and I know about a dozen people promoted off the list. I am unaware of anything else that would stand out regarding the test or list. Just to be up front, I am in support of written exams for promotion.

I wore step in boots since 1997 when we still had the blue coats with white reflective stripes. The matching pants were optional and out of your own pocket. I bought the pants and boots and never looked back. It made getting dressed easy and fast.
