Congradulations to newly appointed FDNY Fire Lt Thomas Bendick. Promoted today on January 2, 2012.

As many know, Lt Bendick is the owner of this site, and because of him, we have been able to follow the workings of the Greatest Fire Dept in the World. Along with that many friendships have been formed.

So after many hours of long, hard study, Lt Bendick was sworn in to his new duties today at the FDNY Fire Acedemny along with others who were promoted to Battalion Chiefs, Fire Marshalls, Fire Marshall Supervisor, and Lts.

Among those present were Tommys wife and young daughter, his mother, his father-a retired FDNY Captain, and his brother John, also a firefighter in the FDNY. Also present was Tommys good friend Truck 4 of this site, who was also recently promoted to Police Sgt in another city. Also present were many members from Tommys former company, FDNY Engine Co 65, to wish him all the best in his new duties and responsibility.

Lt Bendick will begin a 6 week training program to help prepare him for his new duties. After that training period, Lt Bendick will be assigned to FDNYs 1st Division.

It is hoped that some photos taken will soon be posted on this site of this event.

Best wishes to Lt Tom Bendick and all the other newly appointed officers of FDNY.

Some photos have been sent to "Truck 4" and the Bendicks. Hopefully we can get a few posted on this site.

I know its possible to post photos directly from a camera or whatever. But it's guys like me that have no idea of what they are doing, that keep the U.S. Postal service in business.
