Stop pretending you have a fire department.

During my brief stint with a VFD in rural Arkansas before moving away, I would have killed to have a response like Jeannette FD has. No on-call, no station shifts. The pager app pinged and away you went. The Captain was also on the town PD, so a truck would typically roll in 5 minutes, but the...

    Something for the Lawyers

It's going to be the latter regardless of validity, I suspect. My question would be was this a 'must fill' house under other circumstances? If so, they might have a shot at winning. If not, I'd be surprised if it goes anywhere.

    FDNY assistance to Canada

Canada does use an ICS system. Not sure how different without diving into some research, but considering that the US already has one IMT deployed in support of those operations along with a variety of individuals assisting in solo capacities, I think it's safe to say they're reasonably similar...

    FDNY assistance to Canada

Depending on what roles they’re going to fill, it can certainly be a sizable impact well above the number of people. 6 people sounds like folks intended to fill specific roles in either incident management or similar types of positions. Re FDNY, the department does have an ICS team that could...

    1.2 million SQ/ft Walmart warehouse fire 3_16_22

I know from reports/radio traffic that were was a significant water shuttle going on with tankers. It makes me wonder if they had the same problem my small Arkansas town has with small-ish water mains. We ran town essentially out of water one night when an apartment complex went up. With a...

LAFD To Purchase First Electric Fire Engine In North America

Ah, change. I do have to wonder if the old-timers made these same types of comments back in the day when the first horse drawn rigs were replaced with automobiles. I'll be curious to see how the technology continues to evolve as departments trial/break/request improvements to the equipment.

    WTC 9-11 RELATED INFO.

As a museums worker that's money you either leave on the table or put right back into the donation jar after accepting. Especially working at what's a sacred space museum. I've long been amazed the site hasn't become state or federally protected like Flight 93.

Surfside,FL Partial Condo Building Collapse 6/24/2021

Here's a longer bit of scanner traffic from the incident. Lot of stuff in there that will make great training for the future, from the initial size-up by E76 as posted earlier to the rapid ICS set-up and the general response to a major collapse.
