I started being a fire buff in the 1970's in Teaneck NJ which is where I was born. Teaneck has a paid department and I was a member of the CD Fire Auxiliary. We worked closely with the Box 54 Canteen Rehab group which is still active. As an auxiliary I learned a great deal about fire apparatus, equipment, and fireground operations. I left Teaneck and went to college at Trenton State and Rutgers New Brunswick. I have a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Rugers-Newark. I then began my career as a public administrator in Union County NJ and continued my career for various NYC agencies after getting married and moving to Staten Island in 1987. Alot of my career focus has been data analysis and reporting and I spent several years working on data extraction and reporting projects using MS Access and SQL Server Management Studio. As a buff, I am mostly interested in engine company operations and water supply. I am also interested in how US fire operations differ from those in Great Britain and the rest of the world.
