Not sure whether to post this here or in Bronx incidents. I'll go with where the wreck was rather than the members' duty stations (
)
From the FDNY Facebook Page:
Thursday morning, FDNY members driving to the funeral of Captain Stephen Berube came upon a flipped vehicle eastbound on the Long Island Expressway just west of exit 52. Firefighter Joseph Depalma of Ladder 59 and Firefighter Weaver Debe of Rescue Company 3 quickly sprang into action to extricate the victim inside. Firefighters cut the seatbelt, removed the victim to a safe area, and attended to his head injury while ensuring his neck and back were stabilized until further help arrived.
The victim has serious but non-life threatening injuries.
