From the FDNY Facebook page (FDNY photos):
Thursday night, FDNY Marine 3 assisted in safely removing eight people from a vessel that was run aground in Jamaica Bay. Due to the limited water depth and location of the vessel, FDNY members had to deploy a newly acquired piece of equipment called a LifeRamp Rescue System. FF Daniel Sullivan and FF Aaron Reuschle were able to quickly deploy and reach the people on the stranded vessel and assist them onto the LifeRamp System. Due to the quick response of our strategically placed seasonal Marine Unit, all eight people were taken back to shore without injury.
