Feb 3, 1989 John Devaney (JD) LODD. There is a lot of articles about that night and stories to research but I found an old pictures of some of the members. Always good to remember the good times.
Looking at the photo is JD in the front row left kneeling, behind him is Harry Gillen white shirt ( UFA Delegate for life) to his left is Jack Cassidy (BC 40 Bn) red shirt and looking down the row to their left is Mario Starace and Charlie Megan flannel plaid shirt.
Front right is Vinny Brunson kneeling Red head, Capt L105 ( 9-11. 5555)
All great guys who I remember as what a Firefighter should be. Great memories of my time in Red Hook. Sorry I missed that softball game.

^^^ I remember Timmy Stackpole telling me about his detail to R*1.....he pulled up to the FH & was not sure where a good parking spot was so he parked at the curb a little away & went to the FH to ask....they were out of Quarters & as he turned around his car was already on a Tow Hook pulling away....he chased it on foot all the way to the Pound on the West Side by the Hudson....as he got to the compound he saw the Tow Truck positionong his car inside.....the gate was a distance away so he opted to climb over the fence cutting himself good on the razor wire....a lot of hassling to get the car back. .......Timmy was such an enthusiastic, friendly FF / person. .....CONTINUED REST IN PEACE BROTHER.

Timmy Stackpole remembered, this just popped up on my memories. Thought i would pass it along, story and memory should never be forgotten. Timmy was a hero in life and death and forever in the hearts of all who serve.
Very moving and thoughtful. Makes you think.

I had the great honor of knowing Timmy Stackpole, I helped run the FDNY Counseling Service Unit Crisis Intervention after the Collapse that Tim was trapped in on Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn. The fact that he returned to fire duty after his severe injuries is a tribute to Tim. Chiefs something to be learned from the collapse that severely injured Tim. If you do not hear from unit or area of the fire building check out why? A good Chief ensured that a check of the rear of the fire building on Atlantic Ave. was made when the Chief had not heard from the unit's operating in the rear of the fire building. The Chief sent to check the rear found out that the rear of the fire building had collapsed and because the check was made. some of the members in the rear survived, including Tim. Tim was indeed special, Rest in Peace brother. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired
