FDNY Retro Look?? yay or nay

Note* For the correct era from the 80s into 91/92 - At that period in time the Department did not add companies patches to the rigs , for ladders no ladderboard until 1993. If you saw them on the rig, it was most likely done in house. 33’s rig one if not the only truck to have the white company...

FDNY Retro Look?? yay or nay

Just had sometime past few minutes, quickly did this not complete but a representation from a original photo I took of 33's new rig of how the old 1988 CF - 33 would look on the new one.

    4/23/24 Brooklyn 4th Alarm Box 2865

What is up with the OOS first due companies as of late? Rarely saw that before, some weeks back E-242 was OOS. should've been first due to a job a few blocks from the house, I think most recently E-9 in Manhattan ? and 330 today ?

I thought 241 wasn't allowed to relocate due to the age of the frontline rig ?

    4/14/24 Brooklyn 2nd Alarm Box 1463

Yeah, what I said earlier is what the members told me when I was there. I assume they were referring to regular assignment. I’m gonna go with 109 first due truck in, 241 second engine in. 201 & 241 were the only ones with lines stretched in operation.

    New Rescues ?

Did they repaint the rig too?
  16. -Fdnyrigs

    Simple move.

Would make 0 sense that the dept would get brand new rigs & technology, only to keep and install obsolete old mdts back into them.

4/11/24 Brooklyn All Hands Box 1183

Correct. Was just referring to the fact 241 & 242 were both on the highway box for the job prior. I initially thought they weren't at that 95 st job, but members told me they took it in.

4/11/24 Brooklyn All Hands Box 1183

That particular box is a close one between 284 & 241. The Job Prior on 95 st 241 took it in from what I recall being told just before getting onto the bridge for a highway box.

242 should’ve been first due. Were they on a highway box or something unavailable ?
