    Change to NYC Building Codes

How is this going to affect FDNY operations at fires? https://www.dezeen.com/2021/10/13/new-york-timber-buildings/?fbclid=IwAR1kR9jjIkexGnVN6ul6EkwWhsDwASmfx3SXJ16x6KlmHqnSLi1U65UQR20

    Squad Support Truck

Question. When Engine 165 gave their rescue pumper and haz mat rig to Squad 8, did they get a different haz mat rig in its place? Or are they no longer part of haz mat?

    2/12/21 Queens 2nd Alarm Box 8973

This photo from First on Scene Photos has me a little confused. It appears to show a FF in a brown/tan turnout coat instead of black. At first I thought it was EMS but he has a FF's helmet on. Does anyone have any ideas what's up...

    New Tillers

According to FDNYtrucks.com, both 151 & 173 received rear mounts in 2001. I'm pretty sure it was before 9/11.

Gotcha, Thanks. I didn't realize the job from last night was added on to the 10/29 post and not a separate one.

The 3rd Alarm in the Bronx was going on at the same time as this. The post on that job says L-127 relocated to L-144. Were they acting 144 when they were sent to Manhattan or was that after? Or was there a fat finger and L-27 went to the 10-60?

Squad 18 is 2nd Due Engine there. So Squad 1 went as a Squad due to numerous calls.

    New super pumper arrival

I believe the High Pressure Engines 6, 8, 10, 26, 34, soon to be 39, 54, 65, & 258 all have a 3rd Stage and that is what makes it High Pressure, not having 2000 GPM. The High Pressure engines they had before 2013 were all only 1000 GPM.

    High Pressure Engine Companies

    I remember a dept. order a few years ago reclassifying the High Pressure Engines as 3rd Stage Engines, & 25 additional Engines were reclassified as High Pressure Engines. Here is the list, Division 1 - 1, 4, 7, 9, 24 Division 3 - 21, 22, 23, 40, 76 Division 6 - None Division 7 - 66, 67, 72...

    The Telephone Company Fire

My Dad responded with Engine 65.  Rescue 3 responded as well, and the next day, the Lt. on Rescue 3 Mike Maloney became LODD.  More than likely the Telephone Fire contributed to his demise.
