Seems unusual that E 47 on the West Side on W 114th Street does not go at all. Not all that far from the fire, compared to some responding units.

I knew Nick when he was assigned as a probie to E 248. Watched him grow as a firefighter over the years. Was a great nozzleman at E 248. Always a hard worker. RIP Nick. I rode with the company from 1964 to 1973.
