I remember a few years back before GPS in the MDT's that the rig bids had a Garmin GPS spec'd. I would think they had the boxes loaded in them. I ended up picking up the same model at the time and loaded the boxes and firehouse locations in it. It worked great.

Just to clarify, DARS as in the rebroadcast of the fireground HT traffic over the doitt trunking system will be encrypted but the conventional UHF firegrounds will not be encrypted?

I like photographing fires as much as the next guy but this is over the top! What's with the whacker lights? They actual respond with them? I can't imagine the guys on the job put up with this behavior. I know If I did that in my area the guys would be pulling me aside real quick!
