Chicago has a 2-11 fire @ 5039 W Lake on the city's West Side. Squad 7, a 2 piece rescue and snorkel unit company was s/c. Unit is normally stationed @ O'Hare. Fire in a 300 x 100 commercial building fully involved. The CTA elevated runs on this street. If I remember there are a series of one...
There is a post on YouTube about 8-9 minutes long that illustrates the delays that are now commonplace in the fire service. And also how the equity partners are involved.
I believe there was a dedicated CW FDNY channel. Most of the transmissions were for the radio man for "Ladder 5 no MDT" but there would also be transmissions for extra alarm fires.
Lately it seems that monitoring FDNY is a hit or miss proposition, more miss than hit. Both the OpenMHZ and the Broadcastify sites leave a lot to be desired. Some boros are missing, like Queens and Manhattan, as well as the Citywide site. I hope that things will return to sense of normalcy soon.
Fire is out, primary and secondary searches are complete and negative, final searches are underway. Fire is struck out by 2-1-22, companies are being rotated out for re-hab.
2-11 fire location 5439 North Kenmore, fire in a high rise with occupants trapped. S/C 2 additional ladders to raise 40' and 50' ladders to rescue occupants. Fire building is 8 story 60 x 125. Update EMS Plan 2 by 2-1-22
Good job. Brighton, District 11, is sorta like East Boston in that it is seperated rom the rest of the city. The main access is Commonwealth Avenue. The RIT response of 37/26 comes from Huntington Avenue and 33/15 on the second is another long haul. And of course E-21 goes everywhere!
Received the total Chicago company runs for 2024. There were a total of 940,997 responses with 688,725 ems or 1881 daily and 252272 fire, 689 daily. Total company responses.
