If I’m correct, those were both tower ladders with pumps , no hose , no water tanks . So does that actually qualify as a “quint“? I was under the impression that a quint also has a hose bed & a boster tank .

I highly doubt that , Rescue 2& 4 are doing about 34, 3500 runs a year in two of the biggest bourghs. I’m not sure what their numbers were last year, even with all the lithium batteries runs but I don’t think it’s that high.

Do you have any idea what that would cost to fund , man , train and equip 4 more Hazmat companies … it would be astronomical! And besides the logistics of finding a suitable location in each Boro and finding members that would actually want to volunteer to man them …next to imposable …each new...

The SSL‘s fall under the Rescue Ops of SOC . the CPC’s fall under the Hazmat ops of SOC. Two different budgets and more importantly two different Federally funded grants. It’s all about the federal grant money...or in this case the lack of federal grant money for the SSL anymore.

Is the bid for new collapse rescue rigs or squad’s second pieces ? The original post said collapse rigs . And if the bid is actually for squad second pieces ….i got ask ..where is Sq 1, 18 ,& 252 going to keep them ….because 4 door crew cabs won’t fit in their firehouses.
