Update:
0842 From D1 at Box 8171 10-28 Code 3, all units to go 10-8, Amtrak are dealing, this was a metal plate against the third rail.

R-2 has gone 10-8 back to Brooklyn, havn't heard from R4 could R2 have replaced them on the box?

Steve

R-4 may have been at another box in Queens. A Rescue Company has to respond to the Queens side of the tunnel.

Don't they transmit a seperate Manhattan box for the First Ave air shaft. It use to get more then 1 & 1 years back or has that been changed?

That's 8550, boss. 8171 for Penn, 696 or 676 for the PSCC. The East River Tunnel gets the assignment I mentioned earlier. We added one for the Hudson River Tunnel, Box 8551 a few years ago.
