And let's not forget a personal favorite of mine; when Hizzonor Mayor Daley unannounced ordered the civil defense air raid sirens set off to celebrate the White Sox winning the World Series in 1959- scaring the bejesus out of every living soul in Chicago. And, in textbook stand-up politician fashion, blaming the whole fiasco on Bob Quinn, the Fire Commissioner.
