Staten Island 10-75 fire in an abandoned barge. Land units unable to reach it. Waiting for Marine 6. About 3 hours ago

where was marine 9 at the time? and im guessing this was somewhere around the west shore.

Batt 23 reported that the barge was 50 feet from land by the OuterBridge Crossing. Perth Amboy was requested also, for there Fire Boat.

They have been putting out fires in old barges for the last 50 years - at least.  SI has a shoreline full of old, abandonded ships, tugs and barges. Always were tough to reach and put out.  If you let them burn, public keeps calling.

Batt 23 reported that the barge was 50 feet from land by the OuterBridge Crossing. Perth Amboy was requested also, for there Fire Boat.

They were notified, and asked if they had a boat. They were not requested. Perth Amboy did operate.  Marine 9 responded, as did Marine 8, and 6. It takes a while for Marine 9 to get in there, because they are slow. It would probably take 6 just about the same amount of time.
