Six weeks after this, the first Metrofire 10th alarm happened on the night of September 1, 1978 at Somerville Box 21- Medford and South Streets for a former meat packing plant at 37-41 Medford Street. The box at 2352 hrs and the 10th at 0312 hrs; all-out at 2059 hrs on Sept. 3.
Boston sent Engines 32, 8, 10, 40, 34, 1, and Ladder 15 with District Chiefs 2 and 7. Ladder 13 to Cambridge, Ladder 8 to Somerville.
