From personal experience of living directly across from Bellevue, the first due units are (if available) Engines. 16, 21, 14, TL7, L3.

I always thought E-5 was 3rd due at this box esp. the 1st ave box 646. On 8168 the hospital box i also think they are 3rd due. And does L-24 come across 2nd due and not L-3. not sure on that just wondering.

Good point, it does depend on which box it comes in as.  Bellevue I think in general is L3 with L24 3rd due, NYU is the opposite.  As for the engines you're right, for some reason I forgot E5 even existed.  ::)

Box 646 normal response IS: E16, E5, E14, TL7, L3, BC6 ;) Regarding L24 making a crosstown trek to Bellvue? L24 comes out onto W. 31st St. which is westbound towards 7th Ave. which is northbound to narrow 32nd St. to travel east across B'way, 6th, 5th, Madison, Park, 3rd, 2nd & 1st. It's a dangerous run inviting trouble at each congested intersection they traverse, JMO.
