L38 has passed that bell down from rig to rig for decades.

You should see the inside of the 88/38 house. It is the only firehouse designed by architects who primarly built Broadway theaters (Helen Hayes, New Amsterdam, etc.) Marble walls (instead of tile) and mahogany trim. Beautiful. And the brothers keep it that way. At their Centennial a few years ago they mounted an oak board that covers an entire wall with a brass nameplate for every man ever assigned (and when) to Belmont Avenue.

Does anyone have any pictures of that station?  It certainly would be neat to see those design features!
