Always go.
Lives depend on showing up and getting it done.
Let the Mayor and the Governor hash it out.
When I was nearing the end of my career in the Navy, we in the Chief's mess were still able to do things on a wink and a handshake for expedience and keeping the ship ready to meet any and all commitments.
What this chief did or actually didn't do was reprehensible.
Always go.
Ah...The People's Capitol- Austin. Most citizens in Texas can sleep better knowing we've got most of the crazy people corralled into one small area.
I haven't seen anything about this dust-up in the Houston news media. Of course the Houston Chronicle doesn't report news that could make certain politicians look bad ( Austin included). They are still mad Houston firefighters got a raise several months ago.
I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that Chronicle subscriptions are not allowed in Houston firehouses.
Besides members of Texas Task Force One, Houston sent an engine manned with Rescue guys. A couple of departments north of town sent assets in addition to local Cajun Navy members.
