Autoplay and OpenMHZ

To those who use the OpenMhz site I have a question. What is the function of the autoplay tab on the lower left hand of the site? I used Open to monitor Boston and Chicago FD's. The Boston site has the advantage of monitoring basic dispatch and information, as well as Fireground and the MetroFire channel. Chicago is a fill-in for the Broadcastify site, CFD reception is not always the best. However I have noticed problems with it. For example monitoring Boston and its normal busy-ness and then it gets quiet. I check the site and I see it has not been advancing the transmissions, just silence. When then is the function of "Autoplay"? I have this problem on CFD as well. Will appreciate any help on this. Thanks, GG.
