Boy found dead in school chimney

That's right by 323's quarters. The article doesn't mention any F.D.N.Y. response. I would assume this should have initially been dispatched as a confined space incident.

I was listening to it a bit last night but couldnt get much from it. Brooklyn and Batt 58 kept going back and forth trying to figure out if they needed rescue for high angle rope/rescue. I think they finally said they could handle it with units on scene. 1st due units would be E323 and L159

Thanks MP. After reading several brief articles in the papers (none of which had mentioned any F.D.N.Y. presence) I had become curious as to whether or not the F.D. had been dispatched in a timely fashion, or at all ...

Note L159 was assigned as the Water Rescue Truck (Box 3285) for child in water.

Unfortunately, there was a tragic outcome! A high angle rope removal was not necessary

E323 and ESU got there first and L159 a little after. They talked to the kids on scene and said one of their friends was missing after something collapsed which they think was a cover that was on top of the chimney. They searched for about a half hour until they found the victim.
