Do any of the Bronx Engines carry any forestry hose?  When was the last time the BFU listed as being at 97 Engine was actually back in the Bronx?

Don't think there has been a brush unit at 97 in a long time, maybe ever ??
The BFU's are listed as:
Staten Island
BFU - 1 @ Eng 164
BFU - 2 @ Eng 166
BFU - 3 @ Eng 156
BFU - 4 @ Eng 158
BFU - 5 @ Eng 161
Brooklyn
BFU - 6 @ Eng 321
Queens
BFU - 7 @ Eng 266
Manhattan
BFU - 8 @ Govenors Island Fire Protection Unit

Not sure exactly how many are still in service at this time, a couple were lost during sandy and BFU-8 the Govenors Island unit had its brush module removed and was modified to temporarily serve as the engine 329 ATRV which was also destroyed during sandy. I think there are 2 temporary brush units that are stationed where they lost a couple units. they are Ford F-350 dual rear wheel pick up trucks with slide in brush modules. Several new units have been ordered but I'm unsure when they will receive them. Not sure if any Bronx units carry forestry Equiptment but I wouldn't be surprised if a unit had some. I think the only company's that are mandated to carry forestry are:
Staten Island
Engines - 1 inch forestry hose (length ??), 2 indian tanks and 4 fire brooms
Trucks - 4 Indian Tanks, 4 Fire Brooms and 6 lengths of 1 3/4
Battalions - mini manifolds 2 1/2" inlet x 4 - 1 inch outlets

Engines that relocate to SI for boxes 100D - 400D or on second or greater brush fire alarms have to have at least 2 Indian tanks and 4 fire brooms

At one time there was a BFU at Eng 97. I think that might have been in the 80s or early 90s.

There might have only been 5 BFUs at the time. I think maybe three were in S.I., one in Queens w/Eng 331 (?) and with Eng 97.

Initially there was 3 BFUs in The Bronx after the major SI brush fires in 1963.  E38, E96 and E97 each got a surplus 4wd pickup with a 300 gallon slide in forestry tank with mounted pump and hose reel.  By 1965 the units at E38 and E96 were spared out to SI but the one at E97 remained.  http://www.fdnytrucks.com/files/html/bronx/e97.htm  (last unit at E97)  Sometime before 2000 the BFU was moved to Gov. Island but was not removed from E97 and listed at Gov. Island until 2003.

As far as the forestry hose, I was aware if SI but I was curious about the Bronx.

I've heard from some oldtimers that there used to be FF details to brush units in the East Bronx.  This goes back to the 50's and 60's, before the construction boom.  There used to be a lot of undeveloped land and brush.
