Chevron Striping

How come none of the new trucks being built for the FDNY by Ferrara have Chevron striping on the rear of the rigs? I thought that it is mandatory on all new rigs after 2010 ???

It's recommended but not mandatory just like all other apparatus specifications that are issued by ISO and NFPA.  After saying that I also noticed the Chevrons were missing and wondered about it.
