Like most cities and towns, the FDNY responds to various Emergencies throughout the year. In some cases, these incidents require the use of an All Hands or Greater Assignment.

It is time to give credit to the work that the FDNY members respond to beyond the numerous All Hands or Greater Alarm fires. In some cases, any one of these incidents would be Front Page Headline Stories in a local newspaper. We also appreciate the work that the members of this site do in taking the time to post the details of these various incidents.

Beginning with January, 2017 to March 31, 2017 is a run down of some of these incidents that occurred within the City of New York.

  6/26 - Box 7161 - Roof Collapse - 6 injured

Manhattan:
  4/3 - Penn Station - Train derailment - 5 injured
  5/6 - 42 St between 3rd and Lexington Aves - High C.O. levels
  5/9 - Box 1301 - 107 East 105 St - 2 people on fire, 1 DOA
  5/18 - Times Square - Major accident - vehicle drove onto sidewalk injuring several people, 1 DOA
  5/24 - East 126 St between 2nd and 3rd Aves - Worker fell through hole at construction site
  5/24 - Water rescue - West 34th St and Hudson River
  5/30 - Box 8171 - Train stalled under East River with 1,000 on board
  6/14 - George Washington Bridge - SUV vs Tractor Trailer - 5 injured, 2 DOA
  6/27 - Transit Box 7153 - 4th Alarm Train derailment

  5/27 - EMS trauma - Transit worker injured 400 feet into East River tube

  8/10 - Numerous boxes for odor of smoke due to fire in Morrisville, Pa
  9/6 - MVA with NYPD officer pinned
  9/9 - Box 7044 - DOA under "B" train
  9/10 - MVA with pedestrian pinned
  9/28 - Box 3589 - Falling debris from former Shore Theater

Bronx:
  9/7 - Box 8971 - Construction equipment fell off truck hitting bus with 19 green tag injures.
 
October 1, 2017 to December 30, 2017:

Staten Island:
  11/6 -Building Collapse at 3987 Amboy Rd at Nelson Ave
  11/6 - Multi Fatal MVA at Richmond Ave and Signs Rd
  11/28 - High angle rescue at Bayonne Bridge with unconscious construction worker - leg injury

Queens:
  11/29 - High pressure gas main break at construction site 21st Ave and 19th St
  12/22 - NYC Ferry Boat hit sand bar in Jamaica Bay with 24 passengers stranded on a cold night. Used Queens Box 8300
  12/27 - Two work trains collided at Queens Plaza entrance. Manhattan Box 8171 Penn Station used as this incident was on the Manhattan side.

Manhattan:
  10/31 - 2nd Alarm Terrorism Box 0114 West St from West 8th St to Chambers St. 8 DOAs.
  11/9 - Building Collapse Box 1233 at E96 St and 2nd Ave. 30 apartments evacuated
  11/14 - Scaffolding rescue Columbus Circle and 58th St - worker on the 51st floor
  11/27 - 2nd Alarm gas main break at Box 0583, West 19th St and 10th Ave.
  11/27 - NYC ferry boat taking on water - lower Manhattan
  12/11 - Terrorist Incident at 8th Ave and 42 St. - 2 injured, perp carrying bomb dead.
  12/27 - See above - Queens work train incident on 12/27.

Brooklyn:
  10/13 - Fatal MVA/Fire, Gowanus Expwy and Hamilton Ave
  10/15 - Multi Trauma MVA - 8 victims, Belt Pkwy near Erskine St
  10/17 - Collapse Box 1012, 1594 Park Place. Numerous construction workers hurt with one pinned
  11/2 - All hands water main break Box 0922, 1520 Pacific St
  12/7 - Major Collapse at 93 St and Cocklin Ave, 2 trapped in basement.

Bronx::
  10/1 - 3 seriously injured after car strikes Bronx Childrens Party Center at 4266 White Plains Rd
