Very sad news, from the overhead video it also looks like there was a team truck or team lead in the area when the blast went off.

Old-tech coking ovens are no joke, like blast furnaces they are usually attached to they rarely ever go cold and to do so requires a hell of a lot of forethought and proper process to prevent the bricks from exploding during cooldown. And thats when the plant is operating normally.
