Dick Rutan

Dick Rutan, a test pilot who piloted the test aircraft Voyager with his co-pilot Jeana Yeager on a non-stop, non refueled flight around the world has passed away. He was also a USAF pilot who flew 325 combat missions in Vietnam as a "Misty" or Fast Fac in an F-100F and was shot down on August 17, 1968.

He was also a great aircraft designer. He conceived the 1976 Rutan VariEze, one of the first build it yourself aircraft, among others.
