Engine 4 & Ladder 15

When I was in Manhattan last week I stopped briefly at E4/L15. I know E6 is temporarily there and I think a Decon rig. If anybody knows, why was that house built with 5 bays just to house 1 Eng, 1 Lad. & Decon?

Sounds like FDNY was proactive and built it with enough space for anything that might come up like growth, expansion, etc .

I know Mobile Medical 1 (now RAC1) was also briefly quartered there.  E10/E6/L10 have also popped in every now and then.

That decon should be D4,  a Mack/Ferrara.

That house is built into a commercial office building.  I am thinking , that they utilized most of the ground footprint for apparatus space.
