FDNY Helmet Shields

The correct term in NYC is a "frontpiece"......for years Cairns made the FDNY fronts & even though they had an inner layer of cardboard they were better quality than the crap the quartermaster now issues...sizes of the numbers are mismatched & the badge numbers come off easily & they seem to shrink rapidly.....if you are interested in quality leather ones google some places like Paul Conway.
