I would presume that there is a few reasons for not implementing this plan. 1) Security of the limited amount of equipment that could be carried on the bike while on scene. 2) Probability of injuries to the operators. In Manhattan this would be a given. (Note: FDNY EMS personnel do not have unlimited sick leave as do Firefighters or Police Officers. An injury sustained while working is classified as "LODI" aka Line of Duty Injury. The member can elect to go out "Workman's Comp" or on "LODI". LODI still gives the member his paycheck, sans any differentials, but he/she can only remain in the LODI status for 18 months if that is necessary. Guess what? At the end of the 18 months they are not fit for full duty, it's bye-bye, see ya, you're gone!) So even if they did get these Harley's, one would have to be a damn fool to volunteer for the assignment/detail.
