sounds like the Brooklyn and Queens Battalions are using uhf handi talkies after every transmission the mdc comes over. i know in the past they used it on uhf but every battalion has it unified in both boros

sounds like we are on the way :o

Those aren't HT's. Those are the apparatus radios. As new rigs are delivered they are fitted with UHF radios. So far it's only the chief cars and some special units.

Yup, started hearing it in the Bronx this week on the new Battalion rigs that went in service. DoITT takeover almost complete!

DOITT is going to be controling a large portion of the Radio systems for the FDNY.  They are doing the work on the New trunked, Fire and EMS UHF stuff.

OK so they spent 29 days writing the report and one day determining what the system was capable of.  Sounds like they will do just as well as most politicians!  The fire department probably ought to start remembering how to use telegraph boxes again!

A better analogy would be to consider DOITT as AT&T prior to divestiture and the rest of the city agencies are the baby Bells.

They've created a monster with their fingers into everything. Now if they only had a clue as to what they were doing...
