Firefighter among those indicted in $2M sports betting ring

I always get frustrated reading articles like this.  The fact he was a firefighter has nothing to do with the case.  He wasn't doing anything illegal while he was working so why do they mention it?  They didn't mention the jobs that any of the other people arrested hold so why should they talk about his job?  It seems like the papers always want to slam firefighters!
