I came on the job with his son Kevin in 1977, who is still a Lt in L-28. We worked together in L-59 when they were burning the West BX down. Tom (Kevin's Father) recently died but was a wonderful man. The Flanagan family are great. I have met Kevin's son's at seperate FD affairs. They both came up to me and introduced themselves and were very respectful. These are the people that my job is all about, not the BS that is going on today. I am still on the job and am the Capt of a Brooklyn Truck Company. I plan on working for several more years, my young guys are an inspiration to me.
