Hempstead NY (Nassau) Working Fire 1/11/23

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 11th, 2023, the Hempstead Fire Department operated on the scene of a working fire at Nissan of Garden City located on North Franklin Avenue off Main Street. Firefighters put one hand line into operation for a fire on the second floor of a two-story service building. The fire was quickly knocked down before it could extend further and its cause is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Hempstead Chief of Department Sandas [80].
